Packages & Items

Yes! We accept anything that is and compliant to be ‘imported to Canada’ which excludes illegal/prohibited items. Prohibited items vary by country and carrier. Check out this list of Restricted and prohibited goods from the Canadian Border Services Agency

Shipping carriers prohibited items: DHL   –   FedEx   –   UPS   –   USPS

Size and shipping price are correlated, so items smaller than 1 cubic foot tend to be more beneficial in terms of cost. We’ll do everything we can to accommodate your order and shipping requests.

We find clothing to have a high returns rate which lends a bit better to our customer value proposition.

You don’t have to measure, weigh, or calculate anything! We can do all of that for you here at our E-Boutique. You can also bring your items in and we’ll package them for you. Packaging is free for members!

You don’t have to measure, weigh, or calculate anything! We can do all of that for you here at our E-Boutique. Dimensional weight uses an estimated weight that is calculated from the length, width and height of a package. If you want to ship a 5 lb. parcel of books and another 5 lb. parcel of ping pong balls, the latter will take a disproportionate amount of space compared to the former one.

The shipping fee of your package is based upon the greater of the dimensional weight or the actual weight.Consequently, carefully consider the size of the box that your package will be shipped in, if that is something you can control on your end.

You can use this free online tool: Dim Weight.

Yes. The Canadian Border Services may inspect your package. Additionally, we need to inspect the contents in order to make sure there are no damages to your goods, as well as no prohibited/restricted items and dangerous goods.

Yes, we can pack, repack and consolidate your shipment or return. There is an additional Repacking Fee of $5.95.

That depends on the seller and the carrier, send us an email or give us a call to check. If we can’t offer insurance directly, we can recommend some other options.

Payment & Fees

We accept debit, credit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and other compatible tap payment methods. We are currently not accepting cash.

When the Canadian shipping option offered by a merchant is excessively expensive, we can receive the orders at our US address and forward them to you. This doesn’t bypass or eliminate duty and tax but often will reduce shipping costs which can be outrageous. Smaller US merchants often don’t put a lot of time/energy into enabling cost effective and seamless Canadian e-commerce transactions, we are here to help in any way we can

Reach E-Boutique offers a variety of shipping options. You can check out a list of our rates HERE.

We can prepare commercial invoices upon request.

Taxes & Duties

Our shipping rates only include handling and shipping. In case of Duty & Taxes, we can pay on your behalf and we will ask you to pay us back once we hand over the parcel to you.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) collects duty and taxes on imported goods, on behalf of the Government of Canada. Duty is a tariff payable on a good imported to Canada. Rates of Duty are established by the Department of Finance Canada and can vary significantly from one trade agreement to another.

Let’s use a package containing clothing worth $250 CAD  as an example, which is usually dutiable at 18%. On top of that, there is an Ontario tax at 13%. First, we calculate the duties on the total value of your package. Duties are 18% of $250 = $45. Then we calculate the taxes on the sum of both: total value + duties. Taxes are 13% of $295 (package value + duties) = $38.35. Therefore, the total amount to be paid to the CBSA is $83.35

The CBSA has an online Duty and Taxes Estimator tool that provides an estimate for goods imported for personal use. You can find more details HERE

Orders under $40 CAD are duty and tax free, orders under $150 CAD are duty free. There is no ‘honest’ way to eliminate duty and tax otherwise. You can find more details in the “Duty and tax exemptions on goods” section HERE.

We are not familiar with other companies’ exact calculation and billing to their customers, but what we do is: we forward your order up to Canada clearing customs, we pay applicable duties and taxes and when you pick up your package we just ask you to pay us back this same amount in CAD, making this whole process very convenient to you.

Returns

That’s one of the many perks of being a member at Reach E-Boutique! If you need to return anything, we’ll handle it all for you. If the seller provides a return label, we’ll print it and prepare it for you. If you have to cover the return shipping, we offer some of the best rates for shipping to the US. You can check out our rates HERE.

Check out the returns process below for more info.

This will depend on the US merchant you’re ordering from. A few might offer shipping options on returns from Canada directly, while the majority of them will offer you a free return within the US only: in this case we can send back your package to our US address and then ship it back to your merchant’s return address.

We can assist you during this process: you can print labels using our workstations (like a potential US to US free return from your merchant), we can provide cheaper shipping rates for returns that you would normally have access to, among other things.

Last but not least, in case we have pre-paid the taxes & duties for your package on your behalf, you can try on your garments in-store and we will charge you only for what you keep, and at the same time, we will return your package. This means you only pay taxes and duties for the items you choose to keep!
